45 minute (hi-speed) ferry ride from Mykonos to Naxos. This ferry ride was a little different than the one we took from Athens. Much smaller (the seajet) and really fast. Quite a few people were having a rough time with the waves (including Linda). Naxos is such a friendly island. The owner of the hotel we’re staying at explained to us that this is “real” Greece and not as touristy as Mykonos and Santorini are supposed to be. Many beaches to explore. Naxos Town (Chora) has this great old part with winding little walkways and tiny little whitewashed houses. Happily, Linda found pizza and pasta here. We are going to rent a car tomorrow to explore the island and some of the inner villages.
