Hi from Paris…

Left NYC Sunday on a 6pm flight – having our first cappuccino in Paris by 9am on Monday. Definitely the way to get to Europe (overnight). When you land it’s only about midnight your time, so it gives you an entire day in Paris – although you hit a wall about 2pm local time (8am your time) because that’s when you’ve officially been up all night and realize you’re not 21 anymore. Another cappuccino.

We stayed in the Latin Quarter – an area I highly recommend for anyone visiting Paris. Great restaurants and cafes and lots to see within walking distance (Louvre, Notre Dame, Seine). Unlike in NYC where the seats in open cafes are situated to ‘be seen’, I’d forgotten this about Paris cafes: they tier the chairs in the open windows all facing the sidewalk, almost like stadium seating because Parisians love to people watch with their espressos. Europeans love to see, NY’ers love to be seen. And no matter what time of day, the cafes in Paris are packed.

We crammed alot into 2 long days in Paris. The weather was surprisingly cool for June. Off to Greece.
