Heart attack symptoms in women. It’s important to know them. Carrie Fisher was just awesome in many ways. Last week, when she passed away at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack in flight, most of us probably talked about her life and film career. I doubt anything could have been done to save her since she was 30,000 feet up in the air. However, we should let it shed light on heart disease in women.
Princess Leia was a role model on and off the screen to me. Strong, conflicted, she didn’t shy away from controversy. She was outspoken as an advocate for mental health, she struggled, and she was honest.
In an effort to be more like Leia, I’m launching a new weekly series of health tips in 2017. As a nurse, I’m a consultant, freelance writer, and work in patient education. I’ll be offering easy-to-digest tips here at UnboxedMom.com related to family health, women and children’s health, and parenting. You’ll find these weekly tips on the blog and over on instagram.
