A Disney Social Media Moms Celebration Invite landed in my inbox!

I am genuinely filled with appreciation and total excitement to share that I’ve been invited to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration! I know, how the…what the…who…when…
Some things just cannot be explained so I’m going with that! Let me back up a moment to last Friday, when just like that, Twitterdome ignited with one lovely tweet:
Realizing this one tweet likely meant that Disney Social Media Moms Celebration invites were probably flying through social space, did I think to check my inbox? Not at all. I was excited to see who got invited and was busy trying to keep up on Twitter! With my phone buzzing in my pocket after sending out some congratulatory tweets, I eventually went to check for work-related emails and switched over to my inbox only to find:

Double-triple-quadruple takes. As if someone was videoing me, I looked around an empty room. What was happening?! I must have checked that this special email was still in my inbox at least a dozen times and then I slowly came to the realization – it was a magical Friday, indeed. Since then, I’m full of the feels. That is to say, I am experiencing a wave of emotions that cannot be adequately explained.

While I’ve read a ton of descriptions of what to expect from others, I’m going into this wide-eyed and ready to gather my own thoughts. I can’t properly explain how pumped I am to be given this incredible opportunity to learn, network, and have family fun at the most magical place on earth. Honestly, I’m not sure what to expect and that makes it even more exciting! I’m okay being the one that should have the t-shirt that reads: Clueless. I plan to tune in and absorb as many clues as possible. 😉

My limited understanding is that the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is an invitation-only event sponsored by Disney Parks that includes conference sessions for attendees, special family events, and time to enjoy the parks. With many contributing factors, one being the mystery surrounding the invitation list, it is considered one of the most coveted events in the blogosphere. Presented with this opportunity, all that it has to offer, and knowing there are only about 150-200 invites, I truly consider it an honor to be a part of this group of bloggers and social influencers.

Speaking of groups, part of what stands out for me the most is the support and positive energy that is effortlessly exchanged in this social space. Whether it is the Disney Parks Moms Panel Search or the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, it is one big mom rally. Of course, as with anything else, it all depends on how you choose to look at it. I appreciate the support from fellow online moms – and now I’m feeling like we should all virtually hug it out. In all seriousness though, it is one of the reasons that I love to engage in social media. I see it as a giant opportunity to connect with others and a power tool that has incredibly positive capabilities.

Here is my elaborate plan and what I know for sure (so far) about the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration:
→  I can’t wait to learn and maximize this opportunity to its fullest potential (including having an extended family vacation)!
→  This is a perfect reason to upgrade my iPhone. 😉
→  I’ll follow the advice that I often say to my son. I’ll try my best and not worry about the rest.
→  I plan to have a blast and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
