Disney World Vacation, part 1.

We had a great time at Disney. Jack said Allie did great on her 1st airplane ride. And Jack is a traveling pro. He wheeled his carry-on through the airport, went through security, and did very well sitting in his seat on the airplane (thank you ipad). We easily got to the “Mickey Bus” when we arrived at MCO which took us to the Boardwalk Resort. We could walk to Epcot within 5 minutes and take a boat to Hollywood Studios. It was great to be able to avoid the buses with a stroller etc. except when going to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We had Grandma scootering around within a few hours of our arrival. Jack LOVED seeing the characters and repeatedly ran up to them to get hugs (and pictures). I thought Allie might get scared or upset because her stranger anxiety has kicked in, but she really only got upset when we met the princesses at Cinderella’s castle. Otherwise, she was fine with the furry pals and liked Minnie and Pooh the best.

One of our favorite moments: Jack asking if the lights on Cinderella’s castle before the fireworks were magic. I said yes and his eyes were as big as flying saucers with his mouth wide open. I heard him say, “wowww, reallll magic”. It was a very cool light show that they project onto the castle at night.

Jack said his favorite ride was the Kali Rapids in Animal Kingdom. He just made the height requirement and we had no idea if he was going to like it or get upset once he got soaked. He was insistent, so we went on it and as soon as we got off, and were drenched, he enthusiastically said he wanted to go on it again. So we did, and while we waited, he told every single person he saw that they were going to get soaking wet. It was a lot of fun.

Allie’s favorite ride was It’s A Small World. She also got to go on the Finding Nemo ride at Epcot and Talk with Crush. She was a great sport.

I dragged Grandma on Space Mountain (actually, she volunteered) so she was a sport too, but we both regretted it after. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I remembered.

Jack just asked me to also say another favorite ride of his was the Speedway. He got to drive the race car and had a blast with his dad.

More pics and trip highlights coming soon as well as suggestions for anyone planning a Disney trip.
