“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
― Albert Einstein
I genuinely try to remember this quote. It came to mind as I watched Jack play/pretend/imagine during our trip to Disney World. He came off the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and was, Captain Jack, a pirate. He was a safari guide in Animal Kingdom after we got off the safari tour. And, he was a performer in the parade…alongside the parade (see video below). I thought of that quote because as human beings, we can be so conditioned to assume how something/someone should be, that it is difficult when that assumption is challenged. Particularly when challenged by a 4-year-old. I just hope I can challenge my 4-year-old (in a good way) as much as he challenges me. 🙂
So, we are back from our Disney World trip and it was great. I didn’t post along the way due to sheer exhaustion, but we all enjoyed ourselves and it was a very special week (and our first family vacation as 4 + a Grandma).
We have lots of pics to post so I’ll probably do it as a series. But for now, I’ll share one of those perfectly pure moments of childhood, captured by video.
