Here We Goooo!

This post will probably only be relevant to my mom friend’s and their kids. 🙂 A favorite tv show of Jack’s is The Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. He has been watching it since he was about 2 1/2. For those of you not in the mom/kid crowd, the show has blown up in popularity, and they recently released a cd and have gone on their 1st tour. (It’s a band of 4 friend’s who dance, sing, and help each other out – Twist, Shout, Kiki, and Marina).

Being that Jack is the offspring of 2 people who love live music, we decided he was ready for his 1st real concert and he has been VERY excited. The show was fun and he knew ALL the songs they played. His favorite part was when the band threw huge beach balls out to the crowd and everyone got to hit them around.

After the show, we actually got to go “backstage” for a greet and meet and talk to them and take a picture. As soon as we got back there and I saw Jack’s face, I realized it is probably pretty intimidating to meet someone you watch on tv all the time. It made me realize how weird it probably felt to him to actually get to talk to them after watching them sing and dance on stage. We had talked about what questions he might ask the band, and he was going to give a high-five to Twist, but when it was time to talk…deer in headlights. 😉 The band members genuinely seemed all very sweet to the kids even though they seemed really exhausted. They all said hi to Jack and I was able to ask Shout the question for Jack, and we managed a quick pic with him sitting on my lap.

Within 20 seconds of leaving and getting out into the parking lot, he looked at us and asked if we could go see them again. Then he said it was a great day. 🙂
