When my kids learned of a place that actually exists on earth (and conveniently in Florida) that was all about LEGO, it became clear this would be a mind-blowing place to visit. Please understand, it is all about LEGO in our home. My son has his own minifigure shop on his desk where we are regularly invited to choose a head, upper body, lower body, accessory, and hair or hat. He holds his own LEGO master builder sessions and has a LEGO landmine spread out over his floor.
We surprised them with a trip and conveniently used Uber from Orlando to LEGOLAND Florida Resort located in Winter Haven. To say my 4-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son were excited upon walking into the lobby would be an understatement. With a river of easy-to-reach LEGO bricks available for kids in the lobby, a huge LEGO castle with pirate ship to jump around and play on, and a LEGO character walking around, my son fell over with LEGO-induced happiness.
It is built for kids. In absolutely every way, it is meant to engage kids while encouraging their imagination and creativity.
The elevators! We had to peel our kids away from the lobby and head to the elevators. The disco-dancing music elevators were so fun as you can see in this video that my daughter took of my son.
The lobby entertainment and activities. My kids had a blast participating in tons of activities ranging from LEGO limbo and conga line, brick-building contests, and fun interactive games. They somehow managed to create entertainment that could include kids of all ages while the adults were able to sit nearby and enjoy some spirits at the bar!

A few points that I feel are important to share about this property. There is one family restaurant appropriately called Bricks. We had the opportunity to eat dinner and breakfast and we all agreed the food was okay but not spectacular. While we didn’t have to wait to be seated, I imagine it can get crowded when at full capacity, and it would be nice to see expanded food options. We noted there was a fairly long wait for the awesome disco elevators. We didn’t mind waiting because we kept busy by jumping on the whoopie cushion printed rug nearby. The Skyline Lounge and bar is located right next to the castle/pirate ship play area in the lobby. With additional food options for adults while the kids play nearby, the concept is genius.
We all enjoyed our stay and I could definitely see us visiting again someday. My son has already asked and remarked that his visit to LEGOLAND Florida Resort was a highlight…of his life.
