The firefighters museum

We are all feeling better and got out this weekend to check out the firefighters museum near Mitchell Field. Jack was so excited, he had his fire chief hat and jacket (which gets daily use since halloween last year).

Allie, a firetruck enthusiast as well, liked it too. These 2 watch the show, Fireman Sam, and we are constantly having fire drills in our home. Hourly. 🙂

The museum had a great kids area, old firetrucks, and a 9.11 memorial. Jack understood right away when we got to the 9.11 area and became very quiet, He stood at a statue of a fireman for a while asking questions. It was well worth the visit and I am sure we will go again (it’s only 15 min away). It is housed actually in the Mitchell Field hangar and had no air conditioning so it was pretty warm.

When the weather cools, we will take a trip into the city and stop by a firehouse with some goodies. It’ll be exciting for Jack to meet real-life superhero’s. 🙂
