The news has billed the weather this week in NYC as the worst blizzard ever ever ever. I heard a news reporter call it a snowicane because the wind is expected to be so strong. Someone else on the news said it is blizzardo that it is being made into such a big deal. On the drive home from school today, the kids heard about it on the radio, which led to a long conversation about snow storms. In between deep weather-related thoughts, my 3-year-old belted out verses from the Frozen soundtrack. Last year was the worst winter I can ever remember in NY, and now that we’ve relocated down south, I’m realizing we can probably put the snow boots away. I’m slowly breaking the news to the kids who keep asking me when it is going to REALLY snow.
Truth is, when it does snow, it’s always nice when it’s a huge storm that quiets things down for a day or two. Having lived in NYC for years, it’s beautiful when the fresh snow blankets the city and mutes the noise. Here are some of my favorite snowy moments of the last 10 years.
Hope everyone has a fun snow day tomorrow!!
